Our lives become so busy, our minds become so full. It is a perpetuating spiral that feels like it has no out. Too busy to exercise, too tired due to the lack of exercise, eat fast food because of the lack of time, too busy to exercise, too tired too…
Almost everyone I speak to says they feel better when they make the time to exercise, and that this has a flow on effect to other things including productivity, motivation and a sense of self worth.
Sometimes it can be as easy as making an appointment in your schedule to make it to a class, where you know you will be there for an hour, you can’t answer your phone, and you are forced to breathe, relax and focus on yourself.
It’s as though we glamorise being busy. Being busy means we must be important. But what is really important?
We live everyday in our bodies. It’s important to value our bodies, respect them and acknowledge what they do for us.
It’s the connection of mind over movement that differentiates Pilates from other forms of exercise and movement. As Joseph Pilates said “Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live in” & “The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning is gaining the mastery of your mind over the complete control over your body.”
If this sounds like something you’d like to try, get in contact with us and learn to move well, centre your energy and be mindful and intelligent about your movement.
We would love to hear from you!
