The benefits of Massage
I’m very excited to be joining Julia and the Evolved team in introducing Evolved Massage to the clinic.
Remedial Massage is a very popular and effective form of therapy for treating a number of soft tissue conditions. With the stresses and strains placed on our bodies on a daily basis it is very common to experience pain, reduced mobility, stiff joints, muscle tightness or tension headaches. Anyone with young children or long working days will probably recognise a few of these.
In a remedial massage session, I aim to get to the source of specific pain whilst also providing a relaxing and/or rejuvenating, therapeutic session. After conducting an initial assessment to determine our target area, together we discuss a treatment plan to ensure that you get what you want from your session.
Remedial massage, as well as being a wonderful hour of ‘downtime’ can have a number of health benefits including:
Reduced muscle tension
- Improved circulation
- Stimulation of the lymphatic system
- Reduction of stress hormones
- Increased joint mobility and flexibility
- Improved skin tone
- Improved recovery of soft tissue injuries
- Heightened mental alertness
- Reduced anxiety and depression
Like Pilates, many people turn to Remedial Massage for chronic conditions that are affecting their activities of daily living. The two can complement each other perfectly for treating chronic conditions and rehabilitation, and can both work wonders during pregnancy and after childbirth. In many cases, remedial massage allows more efficient movement by identifying and treating areas of restriction by releasing and lengthening tight muscles – this can allow Pilates training to be even more effective.
